PPA S.A.: Granting of space to the Coast Guard and the Ministry of Shipping
November 18, 2021. The PPA S.A. Management during a special event that took place at the “Miaoulis” Cruise Terminal, announced the granting to the Hellenic Coast Guard of 9 offices, alongside other indoor and outdoor space areas totaling 1,100 square meters, to cover the housing needs of the Special Forces division (KEA). The inauguration ceremony of the renovated areas took place in the presence of the Minister of Shipping Mr. Giannis Plakiotakis, the Metropolitan of Piraeus Seraphim who also did the blessing ceremony, the Chief of the Coast Guard Mr. Theodoros Kliaris and many other officials. It is pointed out that PPA S.A. will also cover the cost involved for the remodeling and renovation works of the spaces offered, amounting to 200,000 euros.
In addition, PPA S.A. granted a space area within the Port of Piraeus zone to the Greek Ministry of Shipping and Insular Policy to cover the Ministry employee parking needs providing room to 170 vehicles.
The Chairman of Piraeus Port Authority, Mr. Yu Zenggang stated characteristically: "The Corporate Social Responsibility is constantly at the top of our priorities and we are always happy when we are given the opportunity to contribute to the work of crucial authorities such as, in this case, of the Coast Guard Special Forces and of the Ministry of Shipping and Insular Policy overall.”
