Welcome to newly-built cruise ships at the port of Piraeus


• One of the biggest and most luxurious cruise ships of the world "SPECTRUM OF THE SEAS" called at the port of Piraeus and welcomed by the PPA Deputy CEO Capt. Weng Lin and other executives of PPA S.A., in the presence of representatives from cruise associations.

The newly built cruise ship (April 2019) is 348 meters long, weighs 168,000 tons, has a capacity of 4,246 passengers, is equipped with the most modern and innovative facilities in technology and entertainment and its construction costed about $ 1 billion.

During the ceremony, the Deputy CEO of PPA S.A. handed an honorary plaque and gifts (books) to the Cpt. Charles Sigmund Teige, highlighting: "Piraeus has the biggest cruise terminal in the Eastern Mediterranean and is a modern and safe port which can accommodate the biggest ships, providing quality services according to ISO international standards”.

It should be noted that as it appears from the bookings for 2019 as well as from the data of the first three months, there are positive prospects for the Piraeus port and especially the increase in homeporting, which is a strategic objective of the PPA Management.

 

• One more new ship, the cruise ship "BOUGAINVILLE", which was built in April 2019, welcomed representatives of the PPA Management and handed to the Cpt. Remi Genevaz an honorary plaque and books for the ship's library.

The cruise ship "BOUGAINVILLE" which is making its maiden itinerary and travels to the Greek islands, belongs to the PONANT Company which operates three ships in luxury cruises in the Mediterranean and will make more than 23 calls at Piraeus in the summer of 2019.
