A significant award for PPA's Car Terminal

The European Safe Cargo Working Promotion Committee (SCWPC) of the Japanese company NYK awarded PPA's Car Terminal, certifying that it achieved zero damages in the year 2018.

The annual meeting of SCWPC 2018 took place in Piraeus this year, where mainly discussed issues for improving the loading/discharging procedures of Ro-Ro vessels to achieve zero damages.

NYK is the biggest car carrier company (111 car carriers, with a capacity of 642,000 vehicles, representing 16% of the industry), is recognized as a company of particularly high quality standards and implements a zero damages policy during loading/discharging procedures.

In the meeting participated representatives from all the European ports (Italy, Spain, England, Belgium, Germany, Sweden) and the Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia) in which NYK operates, as well as representatives from NYK headquarters in Japan.

Moreover, a visit at the Car Terminal facilities took place where the activities and development plan of PPA were presented, focusing on the Ro-Ro Terminal.

It should be noted that on Friday 28th June of 2019, will be hosted at the premises of PPA S.A. the annual Maritime & Ports Working Group of the ECG (European Car-Transport Group of Interest) - The Association of European Vehicle Logistics with the support of Neptune Lines.
