PA S.A.: Welcoming Ceremony of “Yuan Hai Kou” - A milestone of Innovation in Green Shipping and Sustainable Development at the Port of Piraeus

25 June 2025. The Port of Piraeus hosted a high-level ceremony on 24 June, 2025, to mark the arrival of the “Yuan Hai Kou,” one of the world’s largest and most advanced vehicle carriers, operated by COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers, is 199.9 m long, has a capacity of 7,000 ceu and will be used on a regular line connecting China with the Mediterranean. The vessel is equipped with dual LNG and solar propulsion systems, underscores a growing shift in the maritime sector towards decarbonization and sustainable innovation. 

PPA S.A.: Solidarity on Board by PPA S.A. - The Sailing Ship “Nave Italia” at the Port of Piraeus

23 June 2025. PPA S.A., driven by a strong sense of social responsibility and a tangible human-centered approach, welcomed the historic sailing ship “Nave Italia” to the Port of Piraeus on June 18th, which remained berthed at the Cruise Terminal until the end of the week. During its stay, the ship hosted children and young people experiencing mental and emotional challenges, offering them a unique therapeutic and educational experience on board.  

PPA S.A.: Resumption of Operations of the Floating Dock “Piraeus II” at the Perama Ship Repair Zone

26 May 2025. Piraeus Port Authority (PPA S.A.) announces the resumption of full operational activity of the Floating Dock “Piraeus II” at the Perama Ship Repair Zone and its delivery for use, following the completion of a series of extensive repair and maintenance works. The dry-docking operations were carried out as part of a special survey and were successfully concluded with the issuance of a new five-year operational certificate by the competent Classification Society.

22 May 2025. The tangible and immediate response of the Port of Piraeus to the major challenge of Climate Change was presented at a conference titled “The Port of Piraeus and Climate Change,” held yesterday at the PPA’s Stone Warehouse.  

PPA S.A.: Targeted infrastructure interventions and upgrade works in full progress to enhance operational readiness of the Port of Piraeus in view of the upcoming summer season  

19 May 2025. Upgrade works are progressing at a rapid pace at the central passenger port of Piraeus in anticipation of the summer season and the expected surge in passenger traffic. In particular, a plan of immediate interventions is being implemented as part of the broader investment framework carried out by Piraeus Port Authority S.A. (PPA S.A.) in recent years, aiming to optimize services and ensure a higher quality travel experience for passengers.

16 May 2025. Piraeus Port Authority S.A. (PPA S.A.) welcomed a high-level delegation from the Republic of Kazakhstan to its headquarters, as part of an official scheduled visit with senior members of the Management.  

PPA S.A.: Financial Results Announcement for Fiscal Year 2024 to the Hellenic Fund and Asset Management Association - Revenue and profits climbed to new highs for the company– An increase in the proposed dividend by 43.7% (€1.92 per share)

13 May 2025. PPA S.A. presented the financial results for the fiscal year 2024 to the Union of Institutional Investors at the Athens Stock Exchange. The presentation was conducted by representatives of the company, led by Deputy CEO Mr. Angelos Karakostas, and a discussion followed with institutional investors and analysts answering questions regarding the progress of the port's business activities.

In the context of the annual conference of ESPO (EUROPEAN SEA PORTS ORGANIZATION), which took place in Thessaloniki following the General Assembly held on 7th, 8th, and 9th of May 2025, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PPA S.A., Mr. Panagiotis Tsonis, met with the European Union Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Mr. Apostolos Tzitzikostas.

28 April 2025. The Port of Piraeus took a significant step in expanding its role as a key vehicle transshipment hub in the Eastern Mediterranean with the arrival of the MV COSCO SHENG SHI, from COSCO Shipping Car Carriers to call at the Greek port, marking the launch of a new regular monthly service by China’s largest maritime vehicle transport provider.

14 April 2025. Piraeus Port Authority S.A.  is reinforcing its position as a leading logistics and passenger hub in the Mediterranean, with a focus on strategic investment, international connectivity and sustainability, according to Deputy CEO Angelos Karakostas. Speaking at the 10th Delphi Economic Forum, Mr. Karakostas outlined the port’s roadmap for becoming a globally competitive and socially responsible infrastructure asset. “We actively support every state initiative that benefits the public, as social contribution remains a core pillar of our mission,” he said, citing the recent immediate response in reducing port fees by 50% as a case in point.

7 January 2025. PPA S.A. welcomed the Viking Saturn, the first cruise ship of the new year, to the Port of Piraeus through a special ceremony that included a traditional exchange of plaques and treats for passengers during check-in at the cruise terminal.
