A courtesy visit in the PPA S.A. held today Thursday, November 10th 2016 by the Commanding Officer of the American navy ship USS CARNEY (DDG 64), CDR Peter Halvorsen accompanied by navy officers.

The CEO Captain Fu Chengqiu and senior executives of the PPA S.A. welcomed today Monday, October 24th 2016 in a courtesy visit in the headquarters of the company, the CDR Christopher Gilbertson, Commanding Officer of the United States Navy destroyer USS MASON (DDG 87) and the Assistant Naval Attache, LTCDR Alexi Cuca. 

The 9th International Conference of Maritime Law was organized by the Piraeus Bar Association, hosted in the Piraeus Port Authority S.A. congress hall, with its kind sponsorship.

Piraeus Port Authority SA Management executives welcome the newly built cruise ship "SEVEN SEAS EXPLORER" on Wednesday 12.10.2016 and handed an honorary plaque to the Italian master Vasta Rosario Giovanni and books for the ship’s library as well.

In the presence of Mrs. Elena Kountoura, Alternate Minister of Economy, Development and Tourism and Captain Xu Lirong, Chairman of China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited, inaugurated the new cruise Pier Saint Nikolaos in the port of Piraeus. Also present were: Mr. I. Moralis, Mayor of Piraeus, Mr. Pitsiorlas S., Chairman of Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund, Mr. G. Gavrilis, Regional vice Governor of Piraeus, Members of Parliament, General Secretaries and other official guests.

The Board of PPA SA approved the financial statements for the first half 2016, important aspect of which is to maintain the profitability of the Company, despite the long lasting strike of staff in May - June (total 28 days). 

In his first interview since taking office as CEO of PPA, Captain Fu Chengqiu declared to Reuters that the target of COSCO Shipping is to emerge Piraeus in one of the largest ports by 2018.

  An "alternative welcome", pleasant surprise awaited 5000 passengers and 1600 crew members of the cruise ship "Carnival Vista". This time the PPA Management held a cultural event with a performance from the Piraeus Municipal Theatre and traditional dances from the Keratsini cultural club dance team, called "THYMAITADAI".

Ιn the Athens Exchange was held the Presentation of PPA SA annual results of 2015 for the Hellenic Fund and Asset Management Association. The briefing to the members of the Association was made from the General Manager Mr. St. Hatzakos, Financial Director Ms. Aik. Venardou and Investor Relations Officer Mr. N. Demenopoulos.

One of the largest and most luxurious cruise ships in the world that sailed into the port of Piraeus, the "Ovation of the Seas" welcomed the PPA Management presence of the Secretary General of Greek National Tourism Organisation Mr. Dimitris Trifonopoulos, representative of Royal Caribbean in Greece Mr. Andreas Stylianopoulos and other cruise stakeholders.
