Decisions of the Board of Directors of PPA SA on 28.08.2013

The Board of Directors of PPA SA, in the context of corporate social responsibility, has decided:(a) To give a grant of €100.000 for the function of the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus, whose renovation has already been completed by the Region of Attica, and which will operate under the responsibility of the municipality.

The Board of Directors of PPA SA approved the award of the work of installing a photovoltaic park in the Commercial Port of Piraeus.

New extended hours for the services of the PPA Container Terminal are being adopted on a pilot basis as of August 1st, 2013.

New extended hours for the services of the PPA Container Terminal are being adopted on a pilot basis as of August 1st, 2013. This service at the Container Terminal (Pier I) is for the convenience of transactions concerning the handling of import formalities and delivery of Containers, on weekday afternoons (15:00 to 21:00) and on Saturday mornings.

Financial Statements for the first half 2013

Increased profit before taxes by 92.54% (€ 3.729.941 compared to € 1.937.186 in 2012) and increased profit after taxes by 208.64% (€ 3.456.897 compared to 1.120.048 in 2012) recorded in the first half of 2013 Piraeus Port Authority SA (PPA). The results of the first semester 2013 are the best after 2007, as the financial performance of the company is constantly improving. The third quarter 2013 is expected to be even more positive in revenues and profitability due to cruise.

Increase 11,72% showing the movements of transit passengers cruise through the cruise port of PPA SA compared with the corresponding period of 7 months from January to July 2012.

After consultation with the supervising Ministry of Marine and Aegean and the HRDF, PPA SA asked PCT SA for a prolongation of negotiations until 29/08/2013.

Completion of the in-port freight car transport station project by ERGOSE SA in the N.Ikonio car-terminal

The completion of the in-port freight car transport station project by ERGOSE SA in the N.Ikonio car-terminal, was certified by the personal presence of the President and CEO of PPA SA, Mr. George Anomeritis, and the CEO of ERGOSE SA, Mr. Costas Spilopoulos, accompanied by administrative and technical staff of the two companies and the company "Aktor", which built the project.

The Board of PPA SA approved the project for facility maintenance of a budget of 922.000 Euros (VAT included). The project will be assigned after open contest and will mainly be concerned with aesthetic upgrade projects and repairs to the port.

The Board of PPA SA approved the continuation of the project “construction of a new cruise quay in Ag. Nikolaos”

The Board of PPA SA, and after further investigation of the seabed foundation (from NTU and HCMR) and the decisions of the Technical Council, approved the continuation of the project “construction of a new cruise quay in Ag. Nikolaos”, which as is known is part of the NSRF (ROP Attica) and already running.

First arrival to Piraeus of the newly constructed ship “Royal Princess” by Carnival

The President and CEO of PPA SA, Mr. George Anomeritis, and his colleagues presented the crest of the harbor and books to the captain Tony Draper and his officers of the cruise ship “Royal Princess”, as gifts to mark the first arrival to Piraeus of the newly constructed ship by Carnival.

The “Royal Princess” will be welcomed at the PPA, on Tuesday 02/07/2013.

The General Assembly of the stockholders of PPA SA was completed today (28.06.2013)

The General Assembly of the stockholders of Piraeus Port Authority (PPA SA) was completed today, which voted unanimously all the issues which were put forward concerning the financial report of 2012 and prospects for 2013.

PPA SA was awarded for active participation in the Program CLIMEPORT PROJECT

Another environmental distinction was awarded to PPA SA and to 5 other Mediterranean Ports (Valencia, Algeciras, Marseille, Livorno and Koper) for active participation in the Program CLIMEPORT PROJECT, for the cooperation in the Mediterranean to face the consequences of climate change.
